INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Los Angeles, a place where dreams can be made or broken. L.A. Strays is a literate stray canine roleplay, where the goal is to find your allegiances, to make your name known, and to come out on top while struggling to survive. While it may seem to be all fun and games here, there are forces at work in the city that will try to bring you down. So the question is, will you survive in the city unbroken?[/blockquote][/blockquote]

- No spamming! It's annoying and rather troublesome.
- Respect everyone, especially staff members at all times.
- Impersonation(especially of staff members) is strictly not tolerated here and will have your account deleted upon seeing it anywhere.
- Do NOT give out personal information!
- These rules are subject to change at ANY given time!
-:::ROLE-PLAYING:::-
- No godmoding.
Definition of Godmoding from reference.com
"Godmoding (sometimes incorrectly spelled as "godmodding") is a term used in message board based role-playing games to describe two behaviours of players. The term comes from the "god mode" found in many video games, allowing a player to activate features such as invincibility, unlimited ammunition or lives, or similar power boosts. Godmoding is almost always frowned upon by other members of the game, because it is regarded as a form of cheating against the game's tacit rules...
Godmoding can occur when a player describes an event or a series of events his or her character has taken against another character or interactive object, most often with the purpose of rescinding negative effects previously encountered or granting some other effect inconsistent with an objective view of the narrative...
...
Godmoding can also refer to the case where a player definitively describes the outcome of their own actions against another character or interactive object. For example, if player A states, "A strikes B and B takes damage", they could be considered to be godmoding. Another example of this might be where a character is facing multiple enemies, and they redirect one foe's attack onto another. For example, Player A states, "B misses A completely, and strikes C instead." This form of godmoding is also referred to as "Autoing". Active godmoding can also take the form of controlling characters that belong to someone else.
Player A: Character A throws a punch at Character B.
Player B: Character B dodges the attack, grabs Character A and throws him out of a stained glass window. Character A flies at Character B, who warps behind him and slashes Character A in the back." - No power-playing. Power-playing is when you take control of another person's cat WITHOUT their consent.
- Please, do not go into any kind of details of breeding.
- Do not make your dog invinceable so that it's basically impossible to harm your cat.
- We have a 300 word minimum per roleplay post here. If you're curious to see how long your post is, use the word count in the side tables.
-:::HIGH POSTION + TERRITORY RULES:::-
- Players are allowed up to one Leader position.
Of course there is an unlimited amount of other high positions you may have. - Leaders of Packs may only lead for up to 4 REAL months.
- Pack leader positions can be challenged by other dogs, if the person challenging does not yet have a leadership position. One challenge per leader at a time. For more on challenging, please look at the territory rules.
- When a territory has been claimed, passed on to, or won by a challenge, the new leader may alter the name, ranks and rules of that pack.
- Pack leader positions can be challenged by other dogs if the person seeking to challenge the leaer does not have a leader position already. If you are looking to challenge someone for their leader position, you must contact Spark BEFORE the challenge so that rules can be set down before the fight.
- Territories are not allowed to split apart, but they may merge together and change their pack name (and in that case, if two bands become one, they may split back into those two bands, with their original names!).
- Packs cannot claim territory outside the territorial areas.
[/U]EXPLANATIONS + OTHER RULES
-:::TIME, BREEDING, AND AGE:::-
[/center]Time: Seasons change every two real weeks, so that means one year in the game is eight weeks, or two months of real time. Winter is the season of breeding, and Spring is the month of birthing.
Breeding: Breeding takes place between two dogs that are both over two years old. Mating occurs in the Winter, not before or not after. The roleplayers of the dogs must create a post in the Winter where the dogs breed or decide on breeding. You will not make your own litter. Rather, you need to fill out a form in the Nursery and a staff member will create your pups.
Age: When pups are born, they will follow the time schedule according to the site until they are two years of age. The same applies to dogs who were created on the site when they were under two years old. For all dogs, once they hit two years old, may age however their roleplay desires.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
